The ProQual Level 1 Certificate in Basic Construction Skills provides an introduction to the construction industry, it is appropriate for individuals of any age. It is also appropriate for learners interested in learning more about construction jobs like plumbing, painting and decorating, carpentry and plastering

The awarding body for this qualification is ProQual Awarding Body and the regulatory bodyis the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). The specification forthese qualifications has been approved by the Welsh Government for use by centres inWales and by the Council for the Curriculum Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) for useby centres in Northern Ireland.

The qualification has been accredited onto the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

Entry Requirements

In order to meet the assessment criteria candidates should be working in the role of construction site manager in building and civil engineering, highways maintenance and repair, residential development, conservation or demolition.

We would carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.

ASSESSMENT METHOD

Candidates must complete the Mandatory unit.

  1. Health and Safety in a Construction Environment

Candidates must demonstrate the level of knowledge described in the unit.

Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.

Each candidate is required to produce evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.
