The Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course provides an understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. It highlights legal responsibilities and the need to promote health and safety to supervise effectively.

The SSSTS course is an ideal foundation for attaining a basic understanding of health & safety duties and responsibilities for junior management in construction work.

Content included in the course over a 2-day period include:

An introduction into health and safety on site, as well as welfare and environmental issues that those in a supervisory role must be aware of.

  1. Legal responsibilities that are relevant to supervisors whilst safely managing a construction site What is expected of site supervisors, including occupational health issues that arise within the construction sector
  2. An understanding of how health and safety law is structured, and how the role of a supervisor links in with the role of a site manager when controlling site safety Risk assessments.
  3. How to carry these out and why method statements are a legal requirement
  4. Fire prevention and control
  5. Control of hazardous substances
  6. CDM (Construction Design Management) Regulations
  7. Working at Height
  8. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), manual handling, accidents and first aid
  9. How to carry out site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings Understanding the need for proactive and reactive monitoring

Our assessments are conducted onsite or remotely using a variety of methods to suit the individual learner.

We deliver over 200+ level 1 to 7 NVQ categories, with training spanning almost all competencies in the industry.

A 50% deposit is all you need to get started with the second 50% payment due before your certificate is issued.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.

ASQ will carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.

This two-day course is intended for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities.

Achievement (RQF) from ProQual.

This course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a Health & Safety culture among the workforce. A light lunch will be provided to delegates attending this course.

The on-site observation is to confirm competence and that requirements are met through observing candidate normal day to day work activities.

Our NVQs and Trainings are delivered or assessed through a combination of direct observation of performance, professional discussions, professional witness reports and through written assignment completed on provided workbooks

Individuals will be assessed by one of our specialist assessors, all of whom hold relevant high-level qualifications in learning and development and extensive experience in the construction industry
